William Comer

Chief Executive Officer + Chief of Police

In 2012, after his retirement from the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office and with over thirty years of law enforcement experience in North Carolina, Bill founded North State Company Police to fill a need for private law enforcement officers in locations and duties that local departments strained to fill. Soon after, North State Security Group was added to provide top-level, experienced security staff to meet the needs of a variety of customers within the community. Bill’s vision, supported by years of community law enforcement experience, and relationships, has grown North State Security Group into a recognized brand for quality service in North Carolina.

Hope Comer Brown

President + Chief Marketing Officer

Throughout the forming years of the company, Hope filled in where needed while pursuing a higher education. Starting as a Security Officer, Hope learned the business from the ground up. Upon graduating from Campbell University in 2013 with her BAA in Trust and Wealth Management, Hope worked as a Marketing Specialist for a financial company before joining the family-owned business in 2020. As President, Hope develops the long- and short-term strategies to enhance the company's growth, oversees recruiting efforts, marketing programs, vendor relations and budget allocations. Hope is a Private Protective Services Board Designee charged with the management of company and security officers state registration processing and compliance.

Michael Easterday

Vice President of Business Development

Michael joined North State Security Group in 2020 after twenty-five years of management experience with national security service providers advancing from a site Account Manager to a Division Vice President overseeing the Carolinas. Michael provides operational support to the management team and is responsible for the business development efforts of the company as well as customer relations. Michael is the Private Protective Services Board Licensee for the company. Michael is a United States Army veteran.

Andy Carter

Operations Manager + PPSB Trainer

Andy joined North State Security Group in 2021 after 20 years of service as a Police Officer in California. Andy is the Regional Operations Manager, and manages all our accounts in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and local surrounding areas. In addition to running day-to-day operations in these areas, Andy is our in-house security trainer and is a State certified North Carolina PPSB Unarmed Security Instructor, and Armed Security Firearms Instructor. Andy is a United States Marine Corps veteran.
